Intro Class
Introductory class is offered to Kids (6-12 yrs) and Adults(13+) . The class session is 60 min to 90 min long depending on the class size, and will consist of teaching you how to throw a pot on the wheel. You will make one pot (bowl or cup), clean up, choose one glaze color from our selection and will be contacted within 4-6 weeks to pick up your ceramic piece when firing is done for the second time. Anyone interested in becoming a member at the studio is required to attend an intro class beforehand. We only accept reservations ahead of time for optimal scheduling availability.
Please be advised that our studio policy does not allow for parents to be in the studio while the session is taking place unless, and only if, the parent is also participating. Our experience with young children has been that they sorely rely on the instructor for instructions and guidance rather than looking to their parents for assistance. Without the distraction and safety net of parents, the kids do incredibly well and follow instructions much better.
Unless your child has special needs, we respectfully decline any requests to be present during the session.
Sometimes, pieces don't survive the firing process due to issues like air bubbles or construction problems. The outcome of a firing can be unpredictable and glazes may turn out differently than intended. The staff have no control over the results once a pot is placed in the kiln. This is just part of the inherent imperfections of the ceramic process. We cannot guarantee the outcome of completed pieces.
Class will start at their scheduled time , and no later. Students who show up more than 10 minutes late to class will not be admitted.
By purchasing Intro Class at Clay Play & Arts, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to all the terms & conditions including no refunds/reschedules. There are no refunds or reschedules. We cannot change your booking once it is made.
