We’re excited to announce a very special upcoming workshop at Clay Play and Art!
Join us for this 4-hour hands-on workshop led by artist Yunting Li, where you'll explore the timeless art of Delicate Porcelain Throwing.
Yunting brings a unique and deeply rooted perspective to the form. A graduate of Jingdezhen Ceramic University in China, she later pursued further study in Kyoto and Arita, Japan, mastering the ceramic traditions of both countries. Her work beautifully merges the elegance of Chinese blue and white porcelain with the refined craftsmanship of Japanese ceramics.
We would focus on throwing with porcelain while also learning how to incorporate color into the clay. For example:
– how to mix ceramic stains into porcelain properly
– wedging and combining colored porcelain to create marble effects or fully colored clay
– throwing techniques with colored porcelain
– trimming techniques
Porcelain #16 clay(6lbs) will be provided for the workshop. Bisque and glaze firing included.
Please bring your own throwing tools.
